Hello, and welcome to Silux Call. You can keep the number your customers already know and move it to us. This is called porting. In this guide I'll show you every step, including signing your letter of authority online.

Before you start, have a recent bill from your current provider to hand. And please don't cancel your old service yet. If you cancel first, the number is released and the port fails.

In your dashboard, open Number Porting from the menu, and press Request Port.

Type the number you want to move, exactly as it appears on your bill. If you're moving a block of numbers, you can add the whole range here instead.

Next, enter your current provider, and your account number with them. Both are printed on your bill.

Now the installation address. This is where the line is installed. Copy it from your bill character for character, because your provider checks it field by field.

Confirm the address the emergency services should be sent to if someone dials 999. For most businesses it's the same as the installation address. Tick to confirm you understand.

Enter the business the number belongs to, and the contact name, phone number and email. This name goes on your letter of authority, and updates are emailed to you.

Add your company registration number and your main billing number if you know it. Tick the box if the billing address on your bill is the same as the address above.

Now your letter of authority, which gives us permission to move the number. Choose Sign the LOA online. We build the letter from your answers, so there's nothing to print or scan.

Enter the full name and position of the person signing. This must be the account holder, or someone authorised to act for the business.

Press Read the letter you are signing. Check that the numbers, the business name and the address are all correct, then close it.

Now sign in the box, using your finger on a phone or tablet, or your mouse on a computer. If you make a mistake, press Clear and sign again.

Tick to confirm you are the account holder, or authorised to act for them. Your signature, the date and time are recorded on the letter.

Upload a recent bill as a PDF or a photo. Your provider checks the request against it, so without one the port is likely to be rejected.

Finally, read and tick the two statements. A port depends on your current provider releasing the number, and it takes about fourteen working days.

Press Submit request, and you'll get an email with your reference. Not ready yet? Press Save draft and finish it later.

Your number keeps working with your old provider until the move happens. Only cancel your old service once we confirm the port is complete.
