What it means

A conference bridge is a "room" people dial into for a group call. No app, link or invite — just a number and a PIN.

What it does

  • Creates rooms with a room number and PINs.
  • Separates participant and admin (host) PINs.
  • Limits the number of participants.
  • Mutes people as they join, plays join/leave tones, and can record the call.
  • Shows total and active bridges and live participants.

Every part of the page

Total Bridges / Active Bridges / Live Participants
Summary figures.
Bridge Name / Room Number
E.g. "Monday catch-up", room 800.
Participant PIN / Admin PIN
Guests use the participant PIN; the host uses the admin PIN. "Rand" generates a random PIN.
Max Participants
Room size limit.
Mute participants on join / Play join/leave tones / Record this bridge
Room behaviour options.
Bridge Active
Switch the room on or off.

How to use it

Set up a weekly team call

  1. Press "Create Bridge". Name "Monday catch-up", Room 800.
  2. Press Rand for both PINs.
  3. Max Participants 10; tick join/leave tones.
  4. Save, then send everyone the room number and participant PIN.

Examples

Weekly team call

Room 800 with participant PIN 1122 and admin PIN 9900, mute on join. Everyone dials in at 9am on Monday.

Client meeting

Give the client the room number and participant PIN; keep the admin PIN to yourself so only you can control the room.

  • ★Always use PINs, and change them if a PIN is shared outside the business.
  • ★Mute on join for calls with more than 5 people.
  • ★Only record if everyone is told it is being recorded.

Abbreviations on this page

PIN — Personal Identification Number
A short number code — used for voicemail access and conference rooms.
Example: Your voicemail PIN, e.g. 4826, stops anyone else listening to your messages.
