Caller Texts: missed-call text-back, voicemail replies and links by text
Text the people who call you automatically: when you miss their call, when they leave a voicemail, or when they press a key on your Call Menu for your link. UK mobiles only, no marketing.
Send-only: there is no text inbox and callers cannot reply. Service messages only: marketing and fake or scam-looking texts are blocked. UK mobiles only.
Which plans include it
Every paid plan, with pay-as-you-go text packs (see the pricing page for the current prices).
What it means
Automatic one-way texts from your business to someone who has just called you, paid for with text packs.
What it does
- Missed-call text-back: sent when an incoming call is not answered and no voicemail is left.
- Voicemail reply: sent when the caller leaves you a voicemail.
- Menu link: on your Call Menu, a key set to "Text the caller our link" texts your link (for example your booking page), then plays the menu again.
- Every text starts with your business name. Send-only: there is no text inbox, replies are not received, and texts must not ask for a reply.
- Fake or scam-looking texts are blocked: asking for card, bank or login details, pretending to be a bank, HMRC or a courier, link shorteners. A link to a website that is not your own is checked by our team first.
- UK mobiles only: overseas and landline callers are never texted. One text per caller per day (a menu link: once per hour).
Every part of the page
- Texts left
- Your balance. Texts last 12 months from when you buy them; the oldest are used first.
- Text packs
- One card payment, no subscription. VAT is added at checkout. Current prices are shown on the page.
- Business name
- Shown at the start of every text so the caller knows who it is from.
- Missed call text-back / Voicemail reply
- Switch each on or off and write your own wording. The preview shows how many text credits it uses.
- Menu link
- The wording and the one web link sent when a caller presses your "Text the caller our link" key.
- Service messages only
- You confirm once that texts are not used for marketing. Wording such as offers, discounts or sales is refused.
- Recent texts
- Every text sent or not sent, and why (for example: not a UK mobile, no texts left).
How to use it

- Buy a text pack.
- Check your business name and write your message, for example "Sorry we missed your call. We will call you back today."
- Tick Missed call text-back, tick the service-messages-only confirmation and press Save.
Text callers your booking link from the menu
- On Caller Texts, enter your link under Menu link and press Save.

- Say it in your menu greeting, for example "press 3 and we will text you our booking link".
- Save the menu.
Recommended settings
- ★Keep texts short (under 160 characters) so each uses 1 credit.
- ★Say what happens next ("we will call you back today") and add your booking link.
- ★Never include offers or promotions: they are blocked.
Abbreviations on this page
- SMS — Short Message Service
- An ordinary text message.
- Example: A missed-call alert that arrives on your mobile as a text is an SMS.
- IVR — Interactive Voice Response
- The recorded menu that answers a call and asks the caller to press a key — "press 1 for sales, press 2 for accounts". Each key sends the call somewhere: a person, a team, voicemail or another menu. It lets a small business sound like a large one and gets callers to the right person first time. In your dashboard it is called a Greeting Menu.
- Example: "Thank you for calling Smile Dental. Press 1 to book, press 2 if you are in pain today, press 3 for billing." Press 2 and the call rings the emergency nurse, not reception.
Questions
Can I send marketing texts?+
No. Caller Texts are service messages only, sent to someone who has just called you. Sales, offers and promotions are not allowed and are blocked.
Do overseas callers get texts?+
No. Texts go to UK mobiles (07…) only. Overseas, landline and withheld callers are never texted.
Can callers reply?+
No. Caller Texts are send-only: there is no text inbox and replies are not received, so do not ask callers to reply (for example "reply STOP"). Your business number still does not send or receive person-to-person texts.
Why was my link held for checking?+
Links to your own website (the domain of your business email) are used straight away. Any other link, for example a booking site, is checked by our team first to keep callers safe from fake links. Link shorteners such as bit.ly are not allowed.
Why was my text refused?+
It looked like marketing (offers, discounts, sales) or like a scam (asking for card or bank details, pretending to be a bank or HMRC). Repeated refused texts pause Caller Texts while we check the account.
What happens when my texts run out?+
Nothing more is sent until you buy another pack. Your calls are not affected.
How many credits does a text use?+
One credit for up to 160 characters (70 if it includes emoji or special characters). Longer texts use more credits.
