What it means
The shop for new phone numbers. Stock is live — what you see is available now — and covers UK geographic (01/02) landline numbers for every area code.
What it does
- Searches available numbers by area code (e.g. 0161), town name, or digits you want in the number (e.g. 7777).
- Filters to SMS-enabled numbers if you want to text from the number.
- Shows the monthly price and any setup fee before you buy.
- Lists the numbers you already own with type, country, where they forward to, rate and status.
- Lets you rename a number, set where it forwards, or release it.
Every part of the page
- Active Numbers / Countries / Monthly Cost
- Totals for the numbers already on your account.
- Get a Number
- Opens "Find your number" — the live search.
- Find your number
- Search "By area code", by town, or by "Memorable digits". Tick "SMS-enabled numbers only" if you need texting. Each result shows Region, Monthly price, Setup fee and Features (Voice, SMS).
- Your numbers table
- Number, Type, Country, Forward To, Rate, Status and Actions for each number you own. Use the filter box to find one.
- Edit Number
- "Friendly Name" is a label only you see (e.g. "Main Office Line"). "Forward To" sends calls straight to a mobile or extension — leave it blank to use your Call Routing rules instead.
- Release Number
- Permanently gives the number back. You may not be able to get it again.
How to use it
Buy a local number for another town
- Press "Get a Number".
- Type the area code (e.g. 0113 for Leeds) or the town name and search.
- Press Buy on the number you want — you are taken to secure checkout with the number reserved.
- Use the same email address you sign in with, so the number is added to this account.
- Pay. The number appears in your list, usually within minutes.
- Open Call Routing and point it where you want it to ring.
Find a memorable number
- Press "Get a Number".
- Type the digits you want (e.g. 2000 or 7777) in "Memorable digits".
- Search and pick from the results.
Send a number straight to your mobile
- Press Edit on the number.
- Enter your mobile in "Forward To" (e.g. 07700 900123).
- Save. Calls now skip your routing rules and go straight to that phone.
Examples
Look local
A Leeds business searches 0113 to get a Leeds number, so local customers see a local number.
Memorable digits
Search for "000" or "1234" to find numbers that are easy to remember and put on a van.
Expanding to a new town

Recommended settings
- ★Choose a local area code for each town you want to look local in — callers answer and trust local numbers more.
- ★Use "Forward To" only for simple set-ups. For anything more (menus, teams, opening hours) leave it blank and use Call Routing.
- ★Give every number a Friendly Name the day you buy it.
- ★Stock refreshes twice a day — if the area you want shows nothing, check back later or ask support.
Abbreviations on this page
- 01 / 02 — Geographic numbers
- UK landline numbers tied to a town or city by their area code, such as 0161 for Manchester or 020 for London.
- Example: 0113 (Leeds) and 020 (London) are geographic numbers.
- 03 / 08 — Non-geographic numbers
- UK numbers not tied to a place. 03 costs callers the same as a landline call; 08 numbers can carry extra charges.
- Example: 0800 and 03 numbers are non-geographic; they are not tied to a place.
- DID — Direct Inward Dialling
- A phone number that rings straight through to a person, team or menu on your system. Each number on your Phone Numbers page is a DID.
- Example: Your 0161 number is a DID; it can ring Jane directly without going through reception.
- SMS — Short Message Service
- An ordinary text message.
- Example: A missed-call alert that arrives on your mobile as a text is an SMS.
