Paging / Intercom: announce through every handset at once
Create paging groups of extensions. Dial the group's extension to broadcast a live announcement, or use duplex mode for two-way intercom.
Which plans include it
Included on Growth and above. On Free Trial, Entry, Plus you can add it on its own at £2.00 a month from Features & add-ons.
What it means
Paging is a tannoy through your phones: you speak and it comes out of every handset in the group without anyone answering.
What it does
- Creates paging groups with their own paging extension.
- Broadcasts to every member when that extension is dialled.
- Duplex mode lets people reply (intercom).

- ★Desk phones with speakers suit paging best.
Abbreviations on this page
- Paging — Paging / intercom
- A one-way announcement that comes out of many handsets at once, like a tannoy. Duplex (intercom) mode lets people reply.
- Example: Dial the paging group and say "Delivery at the back door" to every phone in the group.
- Duplex — Full duplex
- Two-way audio — both sides can speak at the same time. In paging, duplex turns a one-way announcement into an intercom.
- Example: In duplex paging the person you page can talk straight back, like an intercom.
- Ext. — Extension
- A short internal number (usually 3 or 4 digits) for each person or phone. Calls between extensions are free and never leave your system.
- Example: Dial 204 to reach the warehouse.
