Frequently asked questions
Direct answers to the questions UK businesses ask about VoIP, the 2027 PSTN switch-off, smart receptionists, compliance and reselling.
0330, 0345 & 0800 numbers
Does Silux Call sell 0345 numbers?
Yes. 0345 UK-wide numbers are £4.99 a month ex VAT, no setup fee and no contract, added to any paid plan, the same price as 0330. Callers pay the same as calling an 01/02 number. Choose a number from live stock at /0345-numbers.
Should I choose an 0330 or an 0345 number?
They cost your callers and you exactly the same. 0345 is the range banks, utilities and large organisations use, so it looks established; 0330 is the most popular choice for growing businesses. Pick whichever suits your brand.
Is 0345 the replacement for 0845?
Yes. Ofcom created 0345 so organisations could leave 0845, which carries a service charge for callers. An 0345 number costs callers the same as a local call. Silux Call sells 0345 numbers for £4.99 a month; we do not sell 084 or 087 numbers.
Is an 0345 number free to call?
Calls to 0345 cost the same as calling an 01 or 02 landline from any UK mobile or landline, and most call bundles include them, so for most callers they cost nothing extra. Only 0800/0808 numbers are free for every caller.
Does Silux Call sell 0800 numbers?
Yes. 0800 freephone numbers are £9.99 a month ex VAT with £100 of prepaid call credit. Incoming calls cost 3p a minute from UK landlines and 9p from UK mobiles or hidden numbers, charged per second; callers pay nothing. Calls from abroad are blocked unless you switch them on (195p a minute). Top up by card any time, or apply for a monthly-invoiced account. Choose a number at /0800-numbers.
Does Silux Call sell 0330 numbers?
Yes. 0330 UK-wide numbers are £4.99 a month ex VAT, no setup fee and no contract, added to any paid plan. Callers pay the same as calling an 01/02 number. Choose a number at /0330-numbers.
What happens if my 0800 credit runs out?
We email you when 90% and again when 95% of your credit is used. If it runs out, your 0800 number is paused (callers hear that it is temporarily unavailable) until you top up; your other numbers keep working. Top up any time by card, or, if you are a company, contact us for a monthly-invoiced account.
Should I choose an 0330 or an 0800 number?
Choose 0330 for a national number that costs you nothing per call (callers pay a local rate). Choose 0800 when you want calls to be free for customers and are happy to pay per minute.
Is there a free 0800 number?
No. Because the business pays for every incoming 0800 call, 0800 numbers are £9.99 a month plus call credit, on a paid plan. The 7-day free trial includes one local number only.
PSTN switch-off & migration
When is the UK PSTN switch-off?
BT Openreach is retiring the UK PSTN (and the WLR2 wholesale product) on 31 January 2027. Many exchanges are already on stop-sell, so new analogue lines cannot be ordered.
What happens to my landline after 2027?
On 31 January 2027 any analogue line stops carrying calls. Phones, alarms, lifts and EPOS card terminals on that line stop working until they are migrated to an IP service such as VoIP.
Can I keep my existing phone number when I switch to VoIP?
Yes. UK number portability is a regulator-protected right. Silux Call ports UK landline (STAC) and mobile (PAC) numbers free on every paid plan (Entry and above). Porting is handled by our team and typically takes approximately 14 working days from submission; your old line keeps working until it completes.
How much does migrating off the PSTN cost?
For a 1–10 person UK business, expect from £4.75 a month on Entry to £18.95 a month (10 users, 1 landline) on Pro (Enterprise is quoted) with free UK porting on paid plans. Ancillary devices (lifts, alarms, EPOS) are £50–£400 per endpoint.
Pricing & plans
Is there a free trial, and do I need a credit card?
There is a 7-day Free Trial with no credit card: one user and one UK number allocated at random, with 30 outbound minutes. Paid plans do not carry their own trial; Plus instead starts at 99p a month for the first 2 months, one per customer. There is no free plan after the trial. Signing up takes about 60 seconds, with no sales call.
What happens after the free trial?
Silux Call starts with a 7-day Free Trial (1 user, 1 UK number allocated at random, 30 outbound minutes, no card), then Entry at £4.75 a month ex VAT with 2,000 outbound UK minutes, with no contract. Every plan includes a UK landline and its users.
How much does Silux Call cost?
Free Trial £0 for 7 days; Entry £4.75/month (1 user, 2,000 outbound UK minutes); Plus £8.95/month (3 users, unlimited UK calls, 99p a month for the first 2 months); Growth £11.95/month (6 users); Pro £18.95/month (10 users, includes 20 AI receptionist minutes); every plan includes 1 UK landline and extra landlines are £5.99/month; Enterprise priced on application. The AI receptionist is a £15/month add-on on other plans. Pay annually and save 10%. Prices are per plan with a UK landline included, in GBP, ex-VAT, no contract; Growth and Pro start at 2 users.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No. Every Silux Call plan is rolling and cancellable. The 7-day free trial needs no card.
Are prices in GBP?
Yes. Silux Call is a UK-domestic service billed only in GBP, so there is no FX or rounding risk, unlike USD- or EUR-anchored global providers.
AI receptionist & AI features
What is an AI receptionist?
An AI receptionist is software that answers your business phone in your brand voice, understands the caller, and resolves the request, books an appointment, or routes to a human — 24/7.
How much does an AI receptionist cost in the UK?
Silux Call’s AI receptionist is a £15/month add-on, and the Pro plan includes 20 AI receptionist minutes — typically far cheaper than a £2,000/month outsourced answering service.
Can I buy more AI receptionist minutes?
Yes. AI minute packs add 50 minutes for £4.95, 100 for £8.95 or 250 for £19.95 (excl. VAT) to the current month, in one payment with no subscription. If the minutes run out, calls are answered the normal way until the month renews.
How does Silux Call block scam calls?
Silux Call screens every inbound call before your phone rings. On Growth and above (or as a £3.95/month add-on) the scam & spam shield checks each caller ID against rules — spoofed HMRC or government numbers, impossible or forged caller IDs and your own block list — and labels the call as a likely scam or blocks it, per your policy.
Does Silux Call transcribe calls and voicemail?
Yes. Recorded calls and voicemails are transcribed on the platform’s own speech engine with timestamps, full-text search and automatic card-number redaction, so you can read and search calls instead of re-listening.
Can I book a support appointment with Silux Call?
Yes. From your dashboard you can book a 30-minute support callback in a UK time slot between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, from the next working day, with priority emergency slots for urgent, service-affecting issues. See /support/book.
Can the AI receptionist hand off to a human?
Yes. When a call is out of scope the AI hands off to a human agent in under 3 seconds, and a per-DDI toggle lets you keep sensitive lines fully human.
Compliance & security
Is Silux Call GDPR compliant?
Silux Call supports UK GDPR-compliant call recording with a caller consent prompt, and publishes a Data Processing Agreement for customers. Silux Call does not offer HIPAA agreements and is not PCI DSS certified.
Is call recording legal in the UK?
Yes, with a lawful basis (legitimate interest, contract, or consent) and a caller notification before recording starts, under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Silux Call ships a consent-prompt macro.
Can VoIP make 999 calls?
Yes. Ofcom requires VoIP providers to support 999/112. Silux Call routes emergency calls with your registered address and recommends battery/4G backup so it survives a power cut.
Is VoIP secure for business?
Yes when done properly. Silux Call encrypts signalling with TLS and media with SRTP on every call, supports SAML SSO and MFA, and offers KMS-backed recording encryption for regulated tenants.
Setup, devices & integrations
Do I need new phones for VoIP?
No. Silux Call runs on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux and browser softphones, so existing computers and smartphones work immediately. IP desk phones are optional and auto-provisioned.
Does Silux Call work with Microsoft Teams?
Silux Call does not currently offer Microsoft Teams Direct Routing. Teams users can run the Silux Call desktop or browser softphone alongside Teams for their UK business number.
Which CRMs does Silux Call integrate with?
HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Zoho for click-to-dial and screen-pop, plus Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zapier and Slack.
Are Silux Call's unlimited calls really unlimited?
Incoming calls are always unlimited. Outgoing UK calls are unlimited within generous fair use: Plus 4,000, Growth 6,000 and Pro 10,000 minutes a month, shared by all your lines, plus 2,000 for each extra landline (£5.99). Top-ups start at £1.99 for 500 minutes. See /legal/fair-use.
Does Silux Call have an API for click-to-call?
Yes. The Silux Call API lets your own CRM or server start a call with one request: the named extension rings, and when it is answered we dial the number with your business caller ID. It also returns call history and call recordings as MP3. Included on Plus and above, or £2.50 a month on Entry. See /integrations/click-to-call-api.
Can I get my call recordings and call history into my own system?
Yes. GET /api/v1/calls returns your recent calls and GET /api/v1/recordings lists recordings with an MP3 download for each, using an API key from your dashboard. For a live feed as each call ends, add a webhook on the CRM Integration page.
Can VoIP work without internet?
A VoIP call needs connectivity, but Silux Call fails inbound calls over to 4G/mobile or an alternate site automatically during a broadband outage, so you stay reachable.
For resellers & MSPs
Does Silux Call have a white-label reseller programme?
Yes. UK MSPs can rebrand the mobile and desktop softphone, bill end-customers via Stripe Connect, set per-tenant feature flags and earn 30–40% revenue share — including on Pro + AI.
Can I resell Silux Call to my own customers?
Yes. The reseller portal provides multi-tenant provisioning, per-tenant SLA dashboards and affiliate attribution by signup link. Onboarding is typically three weeks.
Using the Silux Call dashboard
Questions about every page of the customer dashboard, by section. Each answer links to the full guide in the Help Centre (93 guides with step-by-step instructions, recommended settings and which plans include each feature). See also how to order SMS and WhatsApp add-ons and the abbreviations A–Z.
Using your dashboard: Getting started
What is Overview in the Silux Call dashboard?
The Overview page shows today's calls, minutes, numbers and voicemails at a glance, a setup checklist, recent calls and a 14-day call chart. The first page you see after signing in. It is a summary of your whole account — nothing on it changes how calls behave, so you cannot break anything here.
Full guideWhy does my Overview show zero calls?
Figures only count calls made or received on this account. A brand-new account, or one whose number is still being ported, will show zero until calls start flowing.
Full guideCan I bring the setup checklist back after dismissing it?
The checklist is designed for first-time setup. Everything it links to is also in the left-hand menu, and the Help button on each page explains it in full.
Full guideDoes the Overview update live?
It refreshes when you open or reload the page. For a second-by-second view of calls in progress, use Live Calls.
Full guideUsing your dashboard: Phone numbers
What is Phone Numbers in the Silux Call dashboard?
Every number on your account with its routing, call counts and minutes. See where each number sends its calls and switch Smart Answering on or off. Your list of phone numbers. Each number (also called a DID or DDI) can send its calls somewhere different — a person, a team, a menu, voicemail or the Smart Receptionist.
Full guideHow many numbers do I get?
Every paid plan includes 1 UK landline. The Free Trial includes one number, allocated at random (you cannot choose it on a trial). Extra landlines are £5.99 a month each.
Full guideWhat does PORTING mean next to my number?
The number is moving from your old provider. It keeps working with them until the move completes, typically about 14 working days after a correct request.
Full guideCan two numbers ring the same people?
Yes. Create a routing rule for each number pointing at the same hunt group, menu or mobile.
Full guideHow do I delete or give up a number?
Numbers cannot be deleted from your dashboard, so a number on your vans, signs or website cannot be lost by accident. If you wish to give up a number, please contact support at info@siluxcall.co.uk. To stop calls ringing somewhere, change your Call Routing instead.
Full guideWhy is my number suspended?
Usually because a payment failed. Open Subscription & usage, update your card, and the number is restored once payment succeeds.
Full guideWhat is Buy a Number in the Silux Call dashboard?
Search live UK number stock by area code, town or memorable digits, buy it through secure checkout, then name it and choose where it rings. The shop for new phone numbers. Stock is live — what you see is available now — and covers UK geographic (01/02) landline numbers for every area code.
Full guideHow much does an extra number cost?
The monthly price and any setup fee are shown on each result before you buy. Every user on a paid plan already includes one number.
Full guideHow quickly does a new number work?
Usually within minutes of payment. It appears in your list and on Phone Numbers; point it somewhere in Call Routing and it is live.
Full guideCan I choose my number on the Free Trial?
No. Free Trial numbers are allocated at random, and you can't choose your number on a free trial. Paid plans choose their own number.
Full guideCan I get a number in a town I am not based in?
Yes. Any UK area code we have in stock can be used from anywhere.
Full guideCan I get texts about calls to my number?
Yes. Add SMS notifications and we text your mobile about missed calls, voicemails and more, so you never miss a customer.
Full guideWhat is Port Your Number in the Silux Call dashboard?
Keep the number you already have. Fill in the porting request, sign the letter of authority online, attach a recent bill and track progress here. "Porting" means moving a phone number from your current provider to us so you keep the same number. Nothing changes for your callers — the same number simply starts ringing on Silux Call.
Full guideHow long does porting take?
Typically about 14 working days from a correct submission. It depends on your current provider releasing the number, and any mismatch in the details can add time.
Full guideDoes porting cost anything?
Porting is free on every paid plan (Entry and above). It is not available on the Free Trial.
Full guideWill my number stop working while it moves?
No. It keeps working with your current provider until the switch, which usually happens with only a brief interruption.
Full guideWhy was my port rejected?
Almost always because a detail did not match your provider's record — usually the installation address, postcode or account number. Check your latest bill and resubmit.
Full guideCan I port a mobile (07) number?
The form accepts geographic (01/02), mobile (07) and non-geographic (03/08) numbers. Contact support before porting a mobile number so we can confirm it can be supported.
Full guideDo I have to cancel my old provider?
Not until we confirm the port is complete. Cancelling first releases the number and the port fails.
Full guideWhat is 0330, 0345 & 0800 numbers in the Silux Call dashboard?
Add a UK-wide 0330 or 0345 number, or an 0800 freephone number, to your account. 0330 and 0345 cost callers a local rate; 0800 is free for callers and paid from your 0800 call credit. An 0330 or 0345 number is a national number that is not tied to a town (0345 is the range banks and utilities use, and it replaced 0845). Callers pay the same as calling an 01 or 02 number. An 0800 number is a freephone number: it is free for callers from any UK mobile or landline, and your business pays for each incoming call from prepaid 0800 call credit.
Full guideHow much does an 0330 number cost?
£4.99 a month ex VAT, no setup fee and no contract. You pay nothing per incoming call.
Full guideHow much does an 0345 number cost?
The same as 0330: £4.99 a month ex VAT, no setup fee and no contract, and nothing per incoming call. Choose one at siluxcall.co.uk/0345-numbers.
Full guideWhat is the difference between 0330 and 0345?
None in cost, for you or your callers. 0345 is the range banks, utilities and councils use (it replaced 0845); 0330 is the most popular choice for growing businesses.
Full guideHow much does an 0800 number cost?
£9.99 a month ex VAT plus £100 of call credit to start. Calls cost 3p a minute from landlines and 9p from mobiles, charged by the second. Unanswered calls are free.
Full guideWhat happens when my 0800 credit runs out?
We email you when 90% and again when 95% of your credit is used. If it runs out, your 0800 number is paused (callers hear that it is temporarily unavailable) until you top up; your other numbers keep working. Top up any time by card, or, if you are a company, contact us for a monthly-invoiced account.
Full guideCan people call my 0800 number from abroad?
Not as standard, because those calls cost 195p a minute. Callers from abroad hear a short message that the number is UK-only, and you are not charged. You can allow them on the 0800 Credit page.
Full guideIs my 0800 number free for callers from mobiles?
Yes. Calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers are free from all UK mobiles and landlines.
Full guideCan my 0330, 0345 or 0800 number have its own greeting?
Yes. Like any number on your account, it can have its own greeting menu, opening hours or hunt group.
Full guideCan I get one on the free trial?
No. 0330, 0345 and 0800 numbers are added to a paid plan. The free trial includes one local number.
Full guideUsing your dashboard: How calls are answered
What is Call Routing in the Silux Call dashboard?
Create rules that send each number's calls to a mobile, a hunt group, a greeting menu, voicemail, the Smart Receptionist or any other number, with optional opening-hours timing. The rule book for incoming calls. For each phone number you choose a destination, and optionally make the rule depend on your opening hours and bank holidays.
Full guideCan I divert calls from my mobile to Silux Call?
Yes. Set your mobile to divert its calls to your Silux Call landline number, and you can answer them on your computer (Softphone) or on the Silux Call app for iPhone and Android. Set the divert on the mobile: on an iPhone go to Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding; on Android open the Phone app → Settings → Calls → Call forwarding. On most UK networks you can also dial **21* followed by your Silux Call number and # to divert every call, or **61* to divert only calls you do not answer, then press call. Dial ##21# to stop diverting. Your mobile network may charge for diverted calls, so check with them.
Full guideWhat is the difference between Forward to Mobile and Direct Number?
Forward to Mobile is for a UK mobile. Direct Number / External Line sends the call to any number or an external phone line — a landline, another office, or a call centre.
Full guideDo forwarded calls cost extra?
Forwarding a call to an outside number uses an outbound call from your allowance, the same as dialling it yourself.
Full guideWhat happens if no rule matches?
Calls ring your extensions and then go to voicemail. Add a Voicemail fallback rule so the behaviour is always explicit.
Full guideWhich plans include Call Routing?
Every plan, including the Free Trial. Forward to Mobile, Voicemail and Direct Number work on every plan. Time-Based Routing (opening hours and bank holidays) is included from Plus, or add Business-hours routing on its own for £2.00 a month.
Full guideWhat is Greeting Menu in the Silux Call dashboard?
Build the recorded menu that answers your calls: write what callers hear, pick a voice or upload a recording, and choose where each key press goes. A Greeting Menu is an IVR (Interactive Voice Response), sometimes called an auto-attendant or switchboard: "Thank you for calling. Press 1 for sales, 2 for support." Each key sends the caller somewhere.
Full guideHow many greeting menus can I have?
Entry includes 1, Plus up to 3, Growth 8, Pro 20 and Enterprise 50. On the Free Trial a greeting menu can be added on its own, which includes 1 menu.
Full guideCan I use my own voice-over?
Yes. Upload MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC, or record straight from your microphone. It replaces the spoken text.
Full guideWhat happens if the caller presses nothing?
Say what happens in your prompt and make sure there is an option for it — usually voicemail or a person.
Full guideIs IVR the same as a greeting menu?
Yes. IVR (Interactive Voice Response) is the industry name; we call it a Greeting Menu.
Full guideWhich plans include it?
Every paid plan: Entry includes 1 menu, Plus 3, Growth 8 and Pro 20. Sub-menus from Plus.
Full guideWhat is Hunt Groups in the Silux Call dashboard?
Group people (or phones) under one destination. Ring them all at once, one by one, or taking turns, with a failover if nobody answers. A hunt group (or ring group) is a team that shares one incoming call. Instead of ringing one person, the call "hunts" through the group until someone picks up.
Full guideWhat is the difference between a hunt group and a call queue?
A hunt group rings people and, if nobody answers, fails over. A call queue holds callers in line with music and position announcements until someone is free. Use a queue when you regularly get more calls than people.
Full guideWhat is Round Robin?
Round Robin shares calls out in turn. Each new call starts with the next person in the group (call 1 → Amy first, call 2 → Ben first, call 3 → Cara first, then back to Amy). If that person does not answer, the rest of the group is tried one by one, then your failover. It suits sales or support teams where calls should be spread evenly.
Full guideRound Robin, Sequential or Simultaneous — which should I pick?
Simultaneous rings everyone at once and is quickest to answer, best for small teams. Sequential always starts with the same first person, best when one person normally answers. Round Robin rotates who is rung first, best when calls should be shared fairly.
Full guideHow do I make my number use the hunt group?
Creating a group does not change your calls on its own. Open Call Routing, press "Add Rule", pick your number, set Routing Type to "Hunt Group", choose the group and save. Calls to that number now ring the group.
Full guideWhat happens if nobody answers?
The call goes to your Failover Destination: a mobile you typed, or voicemail. If you left it empty, the caller can leave a voicemail.
Full guideWhich plans include hunt groups?
Entry and above. On the Free Trial they are not available.
Full guideWhat is Call Queues in the Silux Call dashboard?
Queue callers with hold music and position announcements, choose how calls reach your agents, and set what happens when the wait is too long. A call queue is a waiting line for phone calls. When everyone is busy, callers wait to music ("You are third in the queue") instead of hearing engaged or going to voicemail.
Full guideDo callers hear music in the queue?
Yes — your default track from Hold Music, plus position announcements if you turn them on.
Full guideWhich plans include call queues?
Plus and above. On Entry they can be added on their own from Features & add-ons.
Full guideCan I see who is waiting right now?
Yes — open Live Calls for the real-time view of calls and agents.
Full guideWhat is Find Me / Follow Me in the Silux Call dashboard?
Ring your desk, then your mobile, then any other number in sequence, with a ring time per step and a final action if nobody answers. Find me / follow me makes one incoming call chase you across your phones in turn, so a caller never has to try three numbers to reach you.
Full guideIs this the same as a hunt group?
Similar idea, different purpose: find me / follow me chases one PERSON across their own phones; a hunt group rings several PEOPLE.
Full guideWhat is Business Hours in the Silux Call dashboard?
Set opening times for each day, add bank holidays and closures, and choose what happens to calls when you are closed. Changes apply immediately. Your opening hours, as the phone system sees them. In hours, calls follow your normal routing; when closed, they are handled automatically.
Full guideDo changes take effect straight away?
Yes — saving updates the live phone system immediately.
Full guideHow is this different from Holiday mode?
Business Hours is your regular weekly pattern plus planned closures. Holiday mode (on the Do Not Disturb page) is one switch that overrides everything until you turn it off.
Full guideWhich plans include it?
Plus and above. On Entry it can be added on its own as Business-hours routing.
Full guideWhat is Do Not Disturb in the Silux Call dashboard?
Three switches that stop calls ringing: Do Not Disturb (right now), Enforce Working Hours (on a schedule) and Holiday / Out of Office mode (for a block of dates). Your availability controls. They change where calls go without touching your normal routing, so turning them off puts everything back exactly as it was.
Full guideWill callers know I am on DND?
They hear your voicemail greeting, the same as if you had not answered.
Full guideHoliday mode is greyed out — why?
Holiday mode is included from Entry. On the Free Trial it can be added on its own.
Full guideIf one of us presses DND or Holiday, does it affect everyone?
Yes. Do Not Disturb, Working Hours and Holiday mode switch the whole account, so every phone and every person follows, whoever pressed it. The Softphone page shows a notice on everyone's screen while DND or Holiday is on, and anyone can press the button again to turn it off. To stop just your own phone ringing, sign out of the softphone instead.
Full guideWhat is Company Directory in the Silux Call dashboard?
Keep one searchable directory of your staff with department, job title, extension, direct number, mobile and email. Your internal phone book. It powers dial-by-name: callers who know who they want can reach that person without going through reception.
Full guideIs this the same as Users?
No. Users are logins to the dashboard. The directory is a phone book and can include people who never log in.
Full guideUsing your dashboard: Voicemail & greetings
What is Voicemail in the Silux Call dashboard?
Play messages callers have left, read the transcript, download, archive or delete them, and see which greeting is on air. Your voicemail inbox for every mailbox on the account — a person, a department or a number.
Full guideWhy is there no transcript?
Voicemail-to-text is included from Plus. Very short or silent messages may have no text.
Full guideWhat is Voicemail Settings in the Silux Call dashboard?
Create voicemail boxes, link each to an extension, set the PIN, message length and greeting, and choose email notifications. The settings for each voicemail box. A mailbox is where unanswered calls for an extension (or number) end up.
Full guideHow many voicemail boxes can I have?
One for each user on your plan. The Free Trial includes one; Entry includes at least two.
Full guideWhy does my greeting not change?
Make sure you pressed "Use this" on the new greeting. The page then says a custom greeting is on air.
Full guideCan I turn voicemail off?
Switch off "Allow callers to leave a voicemail". The greeting still plays but no message is recorded.
Full guideWhat is Voicemail to Email in the Silux Call dashboard?
Email every new voicemail to the address you choose, with your own subject line, the audio attached and an optional text transcription. Automatic emails for new voicemail, so you can hear messages on any device without logging in.
Full guideCan I send to more than one address?
The page takes one address. Use a group or shared mailbox to reach several people; individual mailboxes can also have their own address on Voicemail Settings.
Full guideI am not getting the emails.
Press Send Test, check spam, and look at Recent Notifications — the Status column shows whether each email was sent.
Full guideWhat is Greetings in the Silux Call dashboard?
Make professional announcements by typing them and choosing a natural voice, recording with your mic, or uploading audio — then put them on air. The greetings studio. Every message your system plays — voicemail greetings and menu prompts — is made and managed here.
Full guideWhich plans include the greetings studio?
Plus and above. On Entry and the Free Trial it can be added on its own as the Voice greetings studio.
Full guideWhy does my upload sound different on the phone?
Phone calls carry a narrower range of sound than music speakers. Use "Hear it as a caller does" to check.
Full guideWhat is Hold Music in the Silux Call dashboard?
Choose a track from the licensed library or upload your own MP3 or WAV, and set the default that plays on hold and in queues. Music on hold (MOH) — the audio that plays when you put someone on hold or they wait in a queue. Silence makes callers think they have been cut off.
Full guideWhich plans include hold music?
Every paid plan, from Entry. It is not part of the Free Trial.
Full guideCan I use a song from the radio?
Only with a licence for public performance. The System Library tracks are cleared for use.
Full guideWhy must tracks be 10–60 seconds?
Tracks loop; a short track keeps the file small and a message repeating at a sensible interval.
Full guideUsing your dashboard: Making & taking calls
What is Softphone in the Silux Call dashboard?
A working desk phone in a browser tab. Dial, answer, transfer, hold and transfer, add a third person, record, and use DND, hours and holiday shortcuts. A softphone is a phone that runs as software. This one runs in your browser (using WebRTC), signs in to your extension when the page opens, and rings in the tab. Nothing to install.
Full guideCan I call abroad from the softphone?
Not as standard. Every account calls UK landlines and mobiles only. If you dial abroad, a message lets you request international calling. Additional charges apply.
Full guideWhy does the softphone say Disconnected?
The tab lost its connection or your extension is not set up yet. Press Reconnect; if it says no extension is provisioned, contact support. A Network Quality test checks your connection.
Full guidePeople cannot hear me.
Allow microphone access for the site in your browser, and check the right microphone is selected in your computer's sound settings.
Full guideWhich plans include call transfer?
Entry and above. On the Free Trial, transfer is an add-on.
Full guideCan I record a call from the softphone?
On-demand recording is included on every paid plan, with full recording from Plus.
Full guideIs there a desktop app?
Yes. In Chrome or Edge on your computer, open Softphone and press "Install desktop app" (or the install icon in the address bar). It opens in its own window with a desktop icon.
Full guideI answered a call on my locked iPhone. How do I get to the Silux Call app?
Press "More" on the call screen, then press the Silux Call icon. Unlock your phone if asked, and the app opens on your call with Transfer, Hold & Transfer, Record and the keypad. Apple decides how the iPhone call screen looks, so every calling app sits under "More" — the button cannot be renamed.
Full guideWhat is the PIN in the Silux Call app Settings?
It protects the app's call settings. You choose it yourself: the first time you press Unlock in the app's Settings, the PIN you type (4 digits or more) becomes your PIN. After that, Unlock asks for it and keeps the settings open for an hour. Forgotten it? An account admin can reset it on Users (the key button), and you choose a new one the next time you press Unlock.
Full guideWhat do the switches in the Silux Call app Settings do?
Incoming calls off or Do not disturb: your app does not ring and callers go to your voicemail. Outgoing calls off: the app cannot make calls out (999 always works). Voicemail off: callers who are not answered hear that nobody is available and no message is taken. Call forwarding: calls you do not answer are sent to the UK number you enter. Notifications: choose which alerts the app shows. Switches for features that are not on your plan are greyed out.
Full guideCan I use the Silux Call app on two phones at the same time?
No. Only one phone per user can be logged in to the Silux Call app at a time. If you log in on a second phone, that phone takes over your calls and the first phone stops ringing. To move back, open the app on the other phone. If two people need the app, give each of them their own user on Users & Roles.
Full guideWhat is App: Settings & Notifications in the Silux Call dashboard?
What every switch in the Silux Call app's Settings and Notifications does, why some are greyed out, how the PIN works and how Do not disturb works. The Silux Call app for iPhone and Android has two screens of switches. Settings controls how calls reach your phone (incoming, outgoing, voicemail, call forwarding, Do not disturb). Notifications controls which alerts the app shows. The switches are saved on our servers, so they work even when the app is closed, and they apply to you only, not to your colleagues.
Full guideWhy are some switches greyed out?
Because that feature is not on your plan. For example, Call forwarding is greyed out on plans without call forwarding, and the Recordings alert is greyed out if call recording is not on your plan. Upgrade or add the feature in the dashboard and the switch becomes available.
Full guideDoes Do not disturb send my calls to someone else?
No. It only stops your app ringing. If your number also rings colleagues, their phones still ring. If not, callers go to your voicemail, or to your forward number if you have Call forwarding on. To pass calls to a colleague, use a hunt group or call forwarding.
Full guideWhat is the difference between Do not disturb in the app and on the dashboard?
The app switch is for you only. Do Not Disturb on the dashboard is for the whole account: every call to your numbers goes to voicemail.
Full guideIf I turn off an alert, do I lose calls or voicemails?
No. Alerts are just the messages on your phone. Calls still ring and voicemails, missed calls and recordings are still saved in the app and dashboard. The one exception is the Incoming calls alert: with it off, the app only rings while it is open on screen.
Full guideI forgot my PIN.
Ask an account admin to open Users in the dashboard and tap the key button (Reset app PIN). Then tap Unlock in the app and choose a new PIN.
Full guideCan I forward to an international number?
No. Call forwarding goes to UK landlines and mobiles only.
Full guideWhat is Bluetooth: headsets, earbuds & car in the Silux Call dashboard?
Take your business calls hands-free on any Bluetooth headset, AirPods, earbuds or car kit, on the Silux Call app for iPhone and Android, the desktop app and the browser. Silux Call sends your business calls to whatever Bluetooth audio you are using: a work headset, AirPods or other earbuds, a speakerphone or your car. Your callers see your business number, not your mobile, and you talk hands-free.
Full guideCan I use AirPods for business calls?
Yes. Connect your AirPods to your iPhone or Android phone and your Silux Call business calls play through them. On iPhone you can also answer and end calls from the AirPods.
Full guideDoes Silux Call work with my car's Bluetooth?

Full guideCan I switch a call between my headset, the phone and the speaker?
Yes. Tap Audio on the call screen and choose Phone, Speaker or your Bluetooth device, at any point during the call.
Full guideWhich Bluetooth headsets work?

Full guideDo Beats headphones work with Silux Call?

Full guideCan I use a JBL speaker for business calls?
Yes, if the speaker has a built-in microphone (for example JBL Flip, Charge or Go models with hands-free calling). It then works as a speakerphone for your Silux Call business calls. Without a microphone, the sound plays through the speaker and you talk into your phone.
Full guideDo Huawei FreeBuds work for business calls?
Yes. Huawei FreeBuds and FreeLace work with the Silux Call app on iPhone and on Android phones with Google Play. Newer Huawei phones without Google Play cannot install the app.
Full guideDo Panasonic or Technics headphones work?

Full guideWhich phones does the Silux Call app run on?

Yes. When your phone is connected to the car, Silux Call business calls play through the car's speakers and microphone. On iPhone with CarPlay you can also answer from the car's screen and controls.
Full guideCan I use a Bluetooth speakerphone for team calls?
Yes. Speakerphones such as Jabra Speak, Poly Sync, Anker PowerConf and Yealink CP work with the app and the desktop app, so a small team can join a call round a desk.
Full guideDo callers see my mobile number when I use my car or headset?
No. They see your business number, whichever device you talk on.
Full guideCan I use a Bluetooth headset with the browser softphone?
Yes. Pair it with your computer and choose it as the computer's sound input and output, then use the softphone as normal.
Full guideDoes it cost extra?
No. Bluetooth works on every plan with the Silux Call app, desktop app or browser softphone.
Full guideWhat is Call Hold in the Silux Call dashboard?
See calls on hold in real time and resume them, set a maximum hold time, and call customers back automatically if they wait too long. Hold pauses a call without cutting it off. The caller hears your hold music until you come back.
Full guideWhat is Call Waiting in the Silux Call dashboard?
Hear a tone when a second call arrives while you are busy, choose how many calls can wait, and what happens when the limit is reached. Call waiting lets a second caller hold for you instead of going straight to voicemail or engaged.
Full guideDoes a waiting call use a line?
Yes — each call uses one of your account's concurrent calls, which is Entry 1, Plus 2, Growth 3, Pro 5, plus one per extra landline. When none is free, the caller gets the "When Queue is Full" treatment.
Full guideWhat is Call Park in the Silux Call dashboard?
Put a call into a numbered slot and pick it up from any phone by dialling the slot. Set the slot range, timeout and what happens if nobody collects it. Call park is like putting a caller in a numbered waiting room. Anyone on your system can collect them by dialling that number.
Full guideHow is park different from transfer?
Transfer sends the call to one named person. Park leaves it in a slot so whoever is free picks it up.
Full guideWhich plans include call park?
Growth and above. On lower plans it can be added on its own.
Full guideWhat is International calls in the Silux Call dashboard?
Every Silux Call account, trial or paid, calls UK landlines and mobiles only. To call abroad, ask for international calling to be switched on. Extra charges apply. International calling means ringing a number outside the UK, for example +33 for France or 00 1 for the USA. It is switched off on every account as standard. This protects you from unexpected bills and from fraud, where someone gets into a phone system and runs up calls to expensive overseas numbers.
Full guideCan I call abroad on the free trial?
No. Free trials can call UK landlines, mobiles and freephone numbers only.
Full guideCan I call abroad on a paid plan?
Not as standard. International calling is not included in any plan. Ask for it to be switched on; additional charges apply.
Full guideHow much do international calls cost?
It depends on the country. We confirm the rates with you before international calling is switched on, so there are no surprises.
Full guideWhy did my call abroad not connect?
International calling is switched off on your account. You will hear a short message, or see one in the softphone. Send a request and we will be in touch.
Full guideCan people abroad call my UK number?
Yes. Incoming calls from abroad to your UK number work as normal. The block only stops your outgoing calls.
Full guideWhy can I not call 09 or 087 numbers?
Premium-rate and special numbers are blocked on every account to protect you from high charges and fraud.
Full guideDo emergency calls still work?
Yes. 999 and 112 always connect, whatever your account settings.

What is Extensions in the Silux Call dashboard?
Give each person or phone a 3 or 4 digit extension, assign it to a user, choose the device type, and call each other free anywhere in the world. An extension is a short internal number (e.g. 204). Calls between extensions stay inside your system, so they are free and work the same whether your colleague is next door or abroad.
Full guideWhich plans include extensions?
Growth and above. On lower plans they can be added on their own as Internal extensions.
Full guideCan I use a desk phone?
Yes — set Device Type to Desk Phone and contact support for the phone's connection details. You can also get them yourself: save the extension as Desk Phone, open it again and Desk phone settings shows the SIP server (sip.siluxcall.co.uk, port 5060 UDP), the user name (the extension number) and a Get desk phone password button. Any standard SIP desk phone works, for example Yealink, Grandstream or Snom. A Desk Phone extension rings only the desk phone, so keep a separate Softphone extension for anyone who also uses the app or browser.
Full guideWhat is Line Status (BLF) in the Silux Call dashboard?
Live presence for every extension (free, ringing, on a call) and pickup groups that let team members answer each other's ringing phones. BLF (Busy Lamp Field) is the "light" that shows a colleague's line status. Pickup groups let you answer a colleague's ringing phone from your own.
Full guideWhich plans include Line Status?
It comes with internal extensions — Growth and above, or the Internal extensions add-on.
Full guideCan I pick up a call from my desk phone?
Yes. Dial *8 (most desk phones send this from their Pickup key) to answer a ringing phone in your pickup groups, or ** and the extension for one colleague.
Full guideWhy is an extension not listed?
Extensions appear once they are in a pickup group or have a softphone account. Add them to a group.
Full guideWhat is Conference Bridges in the Silux Call dashboard?
Create permanent dial-in conference rooms with participant and admin PINs, a participant limit, mute on join, join/leave tones and optional recording. A conference bridge is a "room" people dial into for a group call. No app, link or invite — just a number and a PIN.
Full guideWhich plans include conferencing?
Growth and above. On lower plans it can be added as Conference rooms.
Full guideWhat is Paging / Intercom in the Silux Call dashboard?
Create paging groups of extensions. Dial the group's extension to broadcast a live announcement, or use duplex mode for two-way intercom. Paging is a tannoy through your phones: you speak and it comes out of every handset in the group without anyone answering.
Full guideWhich plans include paging?
Growth and above. On lower plans it can be added as Paging & intercom.
Full guideWhat is Call Whisper in the Silux Call dashboard?
Play a short private message to the person who answers before the caller is connected — e.g. "This is a business call" — the caller hears nothing. Call whisper is an announcement only the answering person hears. It is ideal when calls are forwarded to mobiles, so you know to answer "Good morning, Acme" not "Hello?".
Full guideIs this the same as whispering to an agent?
No — that is "whisper coaching" on Call Monitoring, where a supervisor speaks to a colleague during a live call.
Full guideWhat is Call Monitoring in the Silux Call dashboard?
Supervisor tools for live calls: listen silently, whisper coaching only your colleague hears, or barge in so both parties hear you. Monitoring lets a manager hear calls as they happen for training and quality. Staff must be told it is in place.
Full guideIs call monitoring legal in the UK?
Yes for business purposes such as training and quality, provided staff are told and you follow data protection law. Take your own advice if unsure.
Full guideHow do I hear the call after pressing Listen?
Your own phone, app or softphone rings first. Answer it and you are connected to the call in the mode you chose. Press another mode to switch, or Stop to leave. You need your own extension on the Users page to monitor.
Full guideWhat is Users in the Silux Call dashboard?
Add team members with their own login and extension, give them a role, and add extra users (also called extensions) to any paid plan so more people can use the app at the same time. Users are the people who sign in to your account, each with their own extension. Each plan includes a set number of users (Entry 1, Plus 3, Growth 6, Pro 10) and 1 UK landline.
Full guideSomeone forgot their Silux Call app PIN. How do I reset it?
Open Users, find the person and click the key button (Reset app PIN), then confirm. They open the app, tap Unlock in Settings and type a new PIN of 4 digits or more, which becomes their PIN. Only account admins can reset PINs, and you can reset your own the same way.
Full guideCan two people share one login on the app?
No. Only one phone per user can be logged in to the Silux Call app at a time — logging in on another phone moves the calls to that phone and the first one stops ringing. Add a separate user for each person who needs the app.
Full guideHow many users can I have?
Each user has their own extension. Your plan includes Entry 1, Plus 3, Growth 6 or Pro 10, and you can add extra users (extensions) to any paid plan. Teams of 25 or more are quoted as Enterprise.
Full guideHow do I add more users or extensions?
Users and extensions are the same thing on Silux Call: one person with their own login and extension. On any paid plan, open Users & Roles and use "Add users (extensions)": choose how many, press Add and pay by card. Each extra one costs Entry £3.95, Plus £3.45, Growth £2.95 or Pro £2.45 a month plus VAT. If the next plan up is better value, the page tells you.
Full guideDo extra users (extensions) give me more calls at the same time?
No. Users share your plan's calls at once. For more calls at the same time, add a landline (£5.99 a month).
Full guideCan I add users or extensions on the Free Trial?
No. Extra users (extensions) are for paid plans. Choose a plan first.
Full guideCan two users ring at the same time, or take turns?
Yes. When your number is called, every user signed in rings at once as standard. To choose how they ring, open Hunt Groups and create a group with your users: Simultaneous (Ring All) rings everyone together, Sequential rings them one by one in your order, and Round Robin takes turns so the first ring moves round the team. Then point your number at the group in Call Routing. Hunt groups are included from Entry: Entry 1, Plus 3, Growth 8, Pro 20.
Full guideHow do I stop paying for extra users (extensions)?
In Users & Roles, press Remove next to the purchase. Billing stops at the end of the month you have paid for.
Full guideDoes each user get a number?
Users share the plan's UK landline. Add more landlines for £5.99 a month each.
Full guideDoes each user get their own extension?
Yes. Every user included in your plan gets their own extension automatically, so each person signs in to the app as themselves and keeps their own call history. When your number is called, every signed-in user's phone rings at the same time and whoever answers first takes the call. To ring people one after another instead, set up a hunt group. How many calls can happen at once still depends on your plan.
Full guideWhat is Live Calls in the Silux Call dashboard?
A live call-centre view that updates every 5 seconds: active calls, today's inbound, outbound and missed, answer rate, longest wait and agent status. A wallboard — the screen call centres put on the wall to show what is happening on the phones right now.
Full guideWhich plans include the live wallboard?
It is part of advanced analytics — Plus and above, or the Advanced analytics add-on.

What is Desk phones in the Silux Call dashboard?
Use a real desk phone or cordless DECT phone on your Silux Call number. Any standard SIP phone works; here are the settings and a guide for each popular brand. A desk phone is a physical phone that plugs into your office internet with a network cable and signs in to your Silux Call account. It rings, transfers and holds calls just like the app, with proper buttons and a handset.
Full guideDo I need a special phone?
No. Any phone that supports standard SIP works. It must not be locked to another provider. Phones from BT Cloud Voice, Microsoft Teams-only phones and Cisco phones with Enterprise firmware usually are locked.
Full guideCan I keep my old analogue phone or fax?
Yes, with an ATA (analogue telephone adapter) such as a Grandstream HT801/HT802 or Cisco SPA112. Set it up exactly like a desk phone: same server, extension number and password.
Full guideWhich plans can connect desk phones?
Desk phones use Extensions, which are included from Growth. On other plans add Internal extensions as an add-on.
Full guideWhy does my phone say "Registration failed"?
Almost always a typing mistake in the server, user name or password. Unplug the phone at once so it stops trying (5 wrong tries in 10 minutes blocks your office for 48 hours), check each box against the Desk phone settings on the Extensions page, then plug it back in. If you have lost the password, press Get desk phone password for a new one and type that in.
Full guideI think our office is blocked. What do I do?
Every desk phone in the building will show offline or "Registration failed" at the same time, while the app on mobile data still works. Support can lift the block once the password is fixed.
Full guideCan two phones share one extension?
No. Each extension signs in on one device at a time, and a second phone on the same extension pushes the first one off. Give each desk phone its own extension, and put them in a hunt group if you want them to ring together.
Full guideWill the desk phone also ring my app?
A Desk Phone extension rings only that desk phone. If the same person also uses the app or the browser softphone, give them a separate Softphone extension and add both to a hunt group, or use Call Routing to ring both.

It is running Cisco Enterprise (CUCM / Webex Calling) firmware, which cannot sign in to other phone systems. Only phones with "MPP" or "3PCC" (Multiplatform) firmware work. The model sticker or the seller can tell you which.
Unplug the phones, then contact support from the dashboard with your office's internet address (search "what is my IP" on a computer in the office).

Full guideUsing your dashboard: Recording & reports
What is Call Recording in the Silux Call dashboard?
Every recorded call with date, caller, duration and size. Play it in the browser, read its transcript, download it as MP3 or the original WAV, or delete it. Your library of recorded calls. Recordings are held encrypted on UK infrastructure and kept for as long as your retention setting says.
Full guideI deleted a recording by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, for 30 days. Deleted recordings move to Recently deleted at the bottom of the Recordings page. Press Restore to bring one back. After 30 days they are removed for good, audio included.
Full guideIs call recording legal in the UK?
Yes for business purposes, if you tell people and follow UK GDPR (have a reason, keep them secure, keep them no longer than needed). Take your own advice for regulated industries.
Full guideWhere are recordings stored?
Encrypted at rest on UK infrastructure, kept for your retention period.
Full guideWhy is my recording "processing"?
The file is still being saved after the call. It normally takes a few seconds.
Full guideCan every call be recorded automatically?
Yes — Automatic call recording is included on Plus and above, or an add-on on lower plans (it needs Call recording too). Switch it on in Recording Settings.
Full guideWhat is Recording Settings in the Silux Call dashboard?
Choose whether calls are never recorded, recorded after consent, or all recorded; set how long recordings are kept; and mute recordings while card numbers are given. The rules for call recording across your account, including the controls that keep card details out of recordings (PCI DSS).
Full guideWhat is the difference between on-demand and automatic recording?
On-demand records only when someone presses Record. Automatic records every call from start to finish without anyone remembering.
Full guideWhich plans have Recording Settings?
Plus and above (full call recording), or the Call recording add-on. Automatic recording of every call is included from Plus.
Full guideDoes Consent-only work on calls I make?
Consent-only plays your consent phrase to people who ring your number, then records (or waits for them to press 1 if you require it). On calls you make, press Record on the softphone once the other person agrees.
Full guideDoes PCI redaction make me PCI compliant?
It keeps card numbers out of recordings, which is a key part of handling cards safely. Compliance also depends on how the rest of your business handles cards.
Full guideWhat is Transcription in the Silux Call dashboard?
Automatically transcribe calls and voicemails, search every transcript, choose language and retention, and download transcripts as text files. Transcription converts recorded speech into written text on our own UK servers, so you can search "boiler warranty" and find the call in seconds.
Full guideDoes transcription separate who said what?
Transcripts are timestamped text of the call. They do not label which speaker said each line.
Full guideWhich plans include call transcription?
Pro and Enterprise, or as an add-on on other plans. Plus includes voicemail-to-text only.
Full guideWhat is Analytics & CDR in the Silux Call dashboard?
Every call in and out with time, numbers, duration, status, cost and recording. Filter it, chart it, and export to CSV or Excel. Your call detail records (CDRs) — one line per call — plus totals and a daily chart.
Full guideWhy does a call show a cost?
Outbound calls beyond your allowance, or to numbers outside your plan, carry a charge. UK landline and mobile calls within your plan show no extra cost.

Full guideWhat does "System" mean as the user?
The change was made automatically — for example by billing or a scheduled job — not by a person.
Full guideWhat is Missed Calls in the Silux Call dashboard?
Email, SMS or WhatsApp alerts for missed calls, with the caller's number, time and a voicemail link, plus a list of your last 20 missed calls. Notifications that tell you about missed calls so you can call back before the customer rings a competitor.

Every plan includes them. WhatsApp alerts need WhatsApp on your account; dedicated SMS and WhatsApp call alerts are £1.50 add-ons on Call Alerts.
Full guideWhat is the difference between this and Call Alerts?
Missed Calls is about missed calls, mainly by email. Call Alerts are paid add-ons that text or WhatsApp you about any event you pick — every call, missed, diverted or a new voicemail — with a monthly allowance.
Full guideWhat is Network Quality in the Silux Call dashboard?
Run a self-serve VoIP readiness test that measures latency, jitter, packet loss and a call-quality score (MOS), and check our connection servers are reachable. A speed test built for phone calls. Calls need a steady connection more than a fast one, so it measures the things that cause choppy or robotic audio.
Full guideWhat is a good MOS score?
4.0 or above is excellent, 3.5–4.0 is fine, below 3.5 callers will notice problems.
Full guideMy speed test is fast but calls are bad.
Calls depend on jitter and packet loss, not download speed. This test measures those.

What is Caller Texts in the Silux Call dashboard?

Full guideWhy was my link held for checking?
Links to your own website (the domain of your business email) are used straight away. Any other link, for example a booking site, is checked by our team first to keep callers safe from fake links. Link shorteners such as bit.ly are not allowed.
Full guideWhy was my text refused?
It looked like marketing (offers, discounts, sales) or like a scam (asking for card or bank details, pretending to be a bank or HMRC). Repeated refused texts pause Caller Texts while we check the account.
Full guideWhat happens when my texts run out?

Full guideWhat is API in the Silux Call dashboard?
How Silux Call API keys work, where to keep them safe, how to change a key without downtime, and what to do if one is exposed. An API key is a long secret, starting sk_live_, that proves a request comes from your account. Anyone who has it can start calls and read your call history and recordings, so treat it like a password.
Full guideI lost my key. Can you send it to me?
No. We only keep a scrambled copy, so nobody can read it back. Revoke the lost key and create a new one.
Full guideCan I put the key in my web page so the browser calls the API?
No. Anyone could copy it from the page. Your page should ask your own server, and your server calls the API with the key. See "Add a Call button to your own CRM".
Full guideWho can see keys?
Only account admins see the key list, and even they only see the first characters after creation.
Full guideWhat is API in the Silux Call dashboard?
Everything about starting a call through the API: what to send, what comes back, what the caller and the customer see, and what can go wrong. One request that starts a call between one of your extensions and any UK number. Your extension rings first; when it is answered, we dial the number. To the person you are calling it looks exactly like a call from your business number.
Full guideWhat does the person I call see?
Your business number, exactly as if you had dialled from your phone.
Full guideWhat if nobody answers the extension?
After 30 seconds the attempt ends and nothing is dialled. Nothing is charged.
Full guideCan I call abroad?
No. Like your phones, the API calls UK landlines, mobiles and freephone numbers only. A non-UK number gets the error "international_not_enabled".
Full guideHow many calls can I start?
Up to 20 a minute per key. How many calls can be live at once follows your plan.
Full guideIs the call recorded?
It follows your normal recording settings, exactly like a call from your phone.

Copy-ready recipes for putting a "Call" button next to every phone number in your own CRM, spreadsheet or booking system, safely. The safe pattern is always the same: the button in your page asks YOUR server to make the call, and your server calls Silux Call with the API key. The key never reaches the browser.
Full guideCan I use a "tel:" link instead?
A tel: link opens whatever phone app the computer chooses. The API is better for a CRM: it always rings the right Silux Call extension and uses your business number.
Full guideWe use HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho or Pipedrive.
Their own workflow or custom-code tools can send the same request from their servers. For call logging into them, use the CRM Integration page.

Pull your recent calls into your own system: what each field means, how to fetch only new calls, and how to match calls to your contacts. A list of the calls on your account, newest first, the same calls you see in Call Records in the dashboard.
Full guideDoes the API show call costs?
No. Your bill and minutes are on the Billing and Minutes pages in the dashboard.
Full guideHow far back can I go?
As far back as your Call Records page in the dashboard; use "before" to page back.

Full guideWhat is Settings → Webhooks in the Silux Call dashboard?
Get a message on your own server the moment a call starts, is answered, is missed or ends, when a voicemail arrives and when a recording is ready. Every event, its fields and how to check it came from us. A webhook is an address on your server. When something happens on a call we send it a short JSON message (an HTTP POST), so your CRM or dashboard updates by itself, with no polling.
Full guideDo I need an API key for webhooks?
No. Webhooks work on their own. You need a key only to download recordings or start calls from your system.
Full guideWhy did a call not send call.answered?
Nobody picked up. Outgoing calls that are not answered send call.started and call.ended; incoming ones also send call.missed.
Full guideWhat is API in the Silux Call dashboard?
Copy your call recordings into your CRM or your own storage: list them, then download each one as an MP3. The same recordings you can play in the dashboard, available to your own system. Which calls are recorded depends on your plan and your recording settings; the API does not change that.
Full guideWhy is the list empty?
Either no calls have been recorded yet, or recording is not switched on. Check your plan and Recording Settings in the dashboard.
Full guideCan I delete recordings through the API?
No. Delete them in the dashboard. The API only reads them.
Full guideCan I share the audio link with someone?
The link only works with your API key, so it cannot be opened by someone else. Download the MP3 and share the file securely instead.

Full guideWhat is API in the Silux Call dashboard?
Every error the Silux Call API can return, what it means and how to fix it, plus the request limits. When something goes wrong, the API answers with an HTTP status and a JSON body like {"code":"invalid_api_key","message":"…"}. The code is for your software; the message is plain English you can show to a person.
Full guideCan my limits be raised?
Contact our support team with what you are building and we will look at it.
Full guideWhere can I see API activity?
Every click-to-call made through the API is listed on your account's activity log, with the key name and extension.
