What is Call transfer?
Call transfer is passing a caller you are already speaking to over to a colleague, without the caller having to hang up and dial another number.
There are two kinds. The industry calls them blind and attended; Silux Call labels them in plain English on the softphone. "Transfer" (a blind transfer) puts the caller straight through and you leave the call. "Hold & Transfer" (an attended or warm transfer) holds the caller while you ring your colleague and explain who is waiting, so you can hand over — or go back to the caller if your colleague cannot take it. On a VoIP system the transfer travels over the internet, so the colleague can be at the next desk or on another continent and the caller cannot tell the difference — all they need is a connection and a softphone. Silux Call includes call transfer from the Lite plan, or £1/month as an add-on.
