How much does an 0800 number cost in the UK? (2026 prices)

An 0800 number is free for your customers to call, so somebody else has to pay: you. That is why 0800 pricing has two parts: a monthly rental for the number and a charge for each minute of incoming calls.

What UK providers charge

We checked UK providers in October 2026. Monthly prices for an 0800 number ranged from about £12.50 to £29.99, usually with a bundle of inclusive minutes and often on a 12-month contract. After the bundle, calls typically cost 2p to 5p a minute, and some providers add a surcharge for calls from mobiles.

Why calls from mobiles cost more

Since 2015, mobile networks have not been allowed to charge callers for 0800 calls. The cost of carrying those calls moved to the business that owns the number, so calls from mobiles cost the number holder more than calls from landlines.

What to check before you buy

• Contract length: a 12-month contract is common. Look for monthly rolling terms.
• Inclusive minutes: some bundles count each mobile minute as two.
• Per-second or per-minute billing: per-minute billing rounds every call up.
• What happens when the bundle runs out: some providers stop the number; others charge a higher rate.
• Setup fees: memorable "golden" numbers can cost hundreds of pounds.
